KEY COMPONENTS OF A WINDOW SCREEN

TITLE
BAR: The bar at the top most part of application’s main menu window is
called the title bar. It usually shows the name of the relevant application
that is currently being run.

MENU
BAR: Next to the tittle bar is the menu bar. It displays the primary
operations available within the currently running application.
ü
TOOL
BAR: This bar displays shortcut button for performing common
operations, such as saving file or copying data.
ü
FORMAT
BAR: The format bar also displays shortcut buttons for performing
formatting operation, such as text alignment, changing the font size e.t .c
ü
SPECIAL
BUTTONS: Special buttons are
located at the right most end of the title bar and are used to manipulate (enlarging/reducing)
windows.

CLOSE
BUTTON: This is used to close the window and exit from the
application.it is located at the right most end of the 3 displayed buttons and
is represented by a cross symbol (X).
ü
MAXIMIZE
BUTTON: This button is used to display a full-screen view of the windows.
It is located in between the minimizing and close buttons. It is represented by
a symbol (box).
ü
RESTORE
BUTTON: The restore button represented by (-r) is only available if a
window has been maximized and is used to restore the window back to its original
size.

MINIMIZE:
This is used to reduce the size of the window. The application remains running
in the background. It is represented by a hyphen like symbol (-).
